Fard Johnmar, MA: Editor-in-Chief

Fard Johnmar, M.A., is founder and president of Enspektos, LLC, a healthcare marketing communications consultancy. He has developed and implemented programs for numerous major global and domestic pharmaceutical companies, nonprofits, medical associations and government organizations. Pfizer Inc., Eli Lilly and Company, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Novartis Pharmaceuticals and the International Society on Hypertension in Blacks are just a few of the organizations he has completed engagements with.
Mr. Johnmar has special expertise in cardiovascular disease, mental health,
infectious disease, oncology, social media communications, public health and health policy.
He holds a Master of Arts degree from New York University’s well-regarded Gallatin School of Individualized Study in communications and health policy. He
completed his undergraduate degree at Amherst College where he earned a B.A. in jazz ethnomusicology with additional concentrations in pre-medical studies and political science.
Jayme Hummer, Assistant Editor

Jayme Hummer serves as Manager, Special Projects and Research at Enspektos, LLC. She also co-hosts the Path of the Blue Eye Project’s podcast, fyi: healthmarcomms. She has more than ten years of experience in research, project management, writing, editing, and publicity. In 2007, Jayme began working with the National Patient Safety Foundation as a Media Consultant. Simultaneously, she was a publicist for several New York Times bestselling authors, gaining national media attention in print, television, radio as well as online. As a publicist she conceived and managed numerous social media campaigns for her authors through various blogs, podcasts, social networks, and more.
In 2008 Jayme worked closely with Doctors Without Borders where she helped raise over $100,000 for the international medical humanitarian organization by devising a strategy consisting of a range of communications activities, including blog posts and social media oureach. At Telluride Medical Center in Colorado, she secured grant funding and focusing on patient safety and relations in the Emergency Department.
Jane Sarasohn-Kahn, MA, MHSA:

Jane Sarasohn-Kahn is the founder of THINK-Health, a strategic health consultancy, a health economist and management consultant who has worked with healthcare stakeholders for over twenty years. Focusing at the nexus of healthcare and technology, her projects focus on: scenario, strategic and business planning, forecasting and health policy analysis. Sarasohn-Kahn has assisted every segment of the health care industry throughout her career including technology and medical device companies; educational institutions; pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors; healthcare providers; payers and plans; consumer products companies; non-profits; and, financial services firms.
Nedra Kline Weinreich, MPH: Contributing Author

Nedra Kline Weinreich, the president and founder of Weinreich Communications, is widely recognized as an expert in the field of social marketing. She is the author of the classic book Hands-On Social Marketing: A Step-by-Step Guide and a prominent blogger on social marketing issues at the Spare Change blog. Since starting Weinreich Communications in 1995, Weinreich has provided effective and innovative social marketing services for clients like the US Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration, Public Health Service, National Cancer Institute, Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Energy and numerous state, local and international organizations. Prior to her work with Weinreich Communications, she designed health education and communication programs for public and private organizations.
Sven Larsen: Contributing Author
Sven Larsen (@zemoga) is a marketing and media specialist with over 20 years of experience creating intellectual property for print, broadcast and digital content providers. Sven has held senior positions with Time Warner Publishing UK, Penguin UK & US (working with Pearson, the Economist and the Financial Times). With a long career in media, Sven has worked with a number of prominent healthcare thinkers including Dr. Andrew Weil, Steven Pinker, Simon Baron-Cohen, and Dr. Oliver Sacks.
Amelia Burke: unNiched 2011 Fellow and Contributing Author
Amelia Burke (@socialibriumm) is the Senior Director of Digital Media for Westat where she provides strategic communication and marketing services in the area of digital media. More specifically, she leverages digital and social media for both direct-to-consumer communication as well as a research and data analysis tool for a variety of government and private sector clients. Ms. Burke brings with her almost 10 years of experience in digital and social media and strives to continuously bring fresh ideas to life for how to reach and engage diverse target audiences with public health messages. She builds and leverages partnerships with online publishers through test and learn opportunities, develops and manages online metrics and reporting systems, and leads new digital business efforts.
Most recently, Ms. Burke was the Director of Digital Media at AED’s Center for Health Communication where she led the digital practice area, designing and leading digital efforts for national public health campaigns for clients such as CDC and NIH. Prior to that, Amelia worked as Group Supervisor for the Social Media and Relationship Marketing Division at Horizon Media where she managed and grew the social media team and led social media campaigns for clients such as GEICO, Cadbury, and A&E.
She has a wealth of experience working for a variety of agencies in both DC and New York whose work spans the private and public sectors. Having learned how to transiton easily from one to the other and share lessons learned across both, she views her role as helping to bridge the divide between the two worlds.
Ms. Burke has a master’s degree in Communication, Culture, and Technology from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree from McGill University.
Sarah Mahoney: Former Contributing Author

Sarah Mahoney is currently serving as social media strategist at the Bernard Hodes Group, a marketing agency based in New York. She recently completed a Master of Public Health at Boston University in health communications and intervention planning in 2009.
She has also served an internship with John Snow, Inc, which is based in Boston, MA. She worked with the firm on new media strategy for the U.S. government’s AIDS.gov Website.
She graduated from the University of Nevada in 2008 with Bachelor of Science degree in Health Ecology.
